Giti brings Global Engineering closer to Latin America

In August 2026, Giti executives, engineers and specialists from China and Singapore travelled to Chile and Brazil for a two-week programme focused on technology exchange, market insights and partner collaboration. The visit demonstrated how Giti connects its global research and development capabilities with local market needs—strengthening relationships with distributors and automakers while supporting safer, higher-quality products for consumers.



Strengthening a Global Partnership in Chile





On 12 August, Giti delegation visited Punta Arenas for a three-day programme with Giti’s exclusive distributor in Chile. Engineers from Giti shared technical insights into the company’s product range, tire performance and technological developments. The sessions also enabled Giti’s engineers to better understand Chile’s diverse driving conditions, including wet, icy, dry and off-road environments.

The programme reflected Giti’s commitment to supporting distributors beyond product supply—building technical knowledge, listening to local requirements and creating stronger foundations for long-term market development.

Giti Tech Day Connects Innovation with Brazil’s Automotive Industry





Giti continued its Latin American programme with two Giti Tech Day events in Brazil on 18 and 19 August. The event was held at Volkswagen’s Anchieta plant in São Bernardo do Campo. Giti’s R&D specialists presented developments in smart tires, electric mobility, sustainable compounds, low rolling resistance and low-noise engineering. Guests also visited themed technical stations where they could explore new products and speak directly with Giti engineers.

The GitiXcursion XT71 and recently launched Giti4x4 AT200 were among the products that attracted interest, highlighting their potential in the Brazilian market. The events also reinforced Giti’s growing Original Equipment collaboration with Volkswagen. Giti tires currently equip the Volkswagen Tera and Polo, with additional sizes under development for future vehicle projects.

Carsten Holger Ehlers from Volkswagen Purchasing highlighted the strength and continued development of the partnership: “Today we have the brand’s tires equipping the Tera and the Polo, and we are expanding the portfolio, developing sizes for other projects. Holding the event here, for the supply and engineering teams as well as other partner areas, shows the size of what Giti is.”
