Produced in Brazil, the New Tera leaves the factory fitted with Giti tires

Volkswagen's compact SUV continues to be a success, expanding Giti's visibility in key markets for the company.

Designed to meet a wide variety of vehicle needs, from compact and family cars to large SUVs, the GitiSynergy H2 tires were chosen to equip the New Tera, one of Volkswagen's latest market successes. Developed with German Engineering, the GitiSynergy H2 line provides driving comfort, low noise, and excellent grip on dry and wet tracks. Other features of this product line include high mileage and low rolling resistance, which contribute to fuel economy.

To meet Volkswagen’s requirements, Giti worked closely with the automaker's engineers on this innovative project. “Months of extensive collaboration, information exchange, and testing were required to achieve the ideal performance for the 205/60R16 92H size, specifically designed for the New Tera”, explains Carlos Spreafico, Giti's Commercial and Original Equipment Manager in Latin America. One of the main challenges of the project was balancing performance with energy efficiency requirements tailored to usage conditions not only in Brazil but also throughout Latin America.

The selection of the GitiSynergy H2 as original equipment for the New Tera solidifies Giti Tire’s strategy of offering solutions that combine technology with energy efficiency, performance, and comfort, for both the Brazilian market and other countries in the region. The partnership with Volkswagen, for instance, expands consumer access to an optimized tire-vehicle combination adapted to local driving conditions, without compromising global quality standards.

The success of this strategy can also be translated into numbers, as Volkswagen aims to conclude 2025 by exporting the New Tera to at least 19 countries: Argentina, Aruba, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Curacao, El Salvador, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, Panama, Peru, Dominican Republic, St. Maarten, and Uruguay, all considered strategic by Giti to strengthen the brand in the Americas.

“It is worth noting that the GitiSynergy H2 is also original equipment for various other vehicles produced in Europe in different sizes, highlighting the versatility of this fantastic product”, adds Spreafico.
