Giti Tire has secured its first International Sustainability and Carbon Certification PLUS (ISCC PLUS) mark for its Anhui and Fujian Province Plant in China.
A key manufacturing facility of Giti and GT Radial branded tyres for passenger car and SUV (PCR), van and light truck (LTR) and heavy truck and bus (TBR) for the European market, it puts the company in a strong position to move forward with the option of advancing towards ISCC PLUS labelled tyres.
Within the tyre industry, ISCC PLUS is a globally recognised standard that confirms sustainability in raw material sourcing, production and supply chain management.
Key requirements include ISCC PLUS–certified sustainable feedstocks, verified GHG emissions savings, proven circularity and waste management, supply chain traceability via mass balance or segregation, compliance with social sustainability criteria supported by robust traceability governance.
In its 2024 Sustainability Report, Giti Tire reconfirmed its ambitious targets for reducing its environmental impact, with the business aiming for net-zero Scope 1 and 2 global emissions by 2050.
The company is concurrently investing heavily in renewable energy, sustainable production practices and innovative tyre technologies to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
Dr Pang, Giti Tire’s Chief Sustainability Officer: “ISCC PLUS accreditation is a landmark moment in our sustainability journey, verifying that key raw materials come from responsible and fully traceable supply chains as well as confirming our commitment to people and the planet."
“This recognition places us among the industry’s premium manufacturers, an achievement that reflects our rising leadership in the global tyre sector.”
The New Anhui Plant in China also feature a new state-of-the-art carbon neutral production line to run operation in 2026.
